2009 LB Poly Boys XC Team

Weekly Fall Newsletter #3

PAST WEEKS HIGHLIGHTS & COACHES THOUGHTS:

Woodbridge lives true to its reputation & does not disappoint! The 2009 Jackrabbit Runners had another outstanding evening!  Across the board, all levels from 9th grade to varsity came ready to race & put in some fantastic performances. Nearly every Poly runner ran significantly better than last week & improved their time.  Many again improved by leaps & bound while many runners achieved new Woodbridge & lifetime PRŐs!

Varsity: 10th overall in the highly competitive Rated Race. This years rated race was much deeper than last year (we would have been forth last year)  Top three (Eric, Ruben & Sean) all under 15.30 for a very strong 123 punch!  4-7 continue to improve as we dropped our spread from 1:46 last week to :51 seconds this week!   Very impressive!

9th graders, led by Rithia this week,  continue to improve & learn how to race better every week.

10th graders, led by Jazeel (how fast am I supposed to go out) Garcia also had some great showings including Raul, Cameron & Fernado (all PRŐs) in a very tight pack at 17 minutes and a 8th overall team finish.

11th graders also had a nice front  w/ Derek & Bryan Macias  leading the was & both setting lifetime PRŐs.

The very large senior group (14 Poly Runners)  had Glenn setting the pace (also PR).

Even though it was a such a great night for Poly runners at Woodbridge, we must continue to keep working very hard & if we want to continue to improve & strive to reach our team goals. We are by no means ŇthereÓ yet.  Wilson & Lakewood are not going to just hand us a title, we have to earn it & win it.  DonŐt settle for your Woodbridge time, use it as motivation to get even faster for El Dorado (Moore League #1)! Readjust your goals now that you know what you can do.  How can you get better & make your team better? You must continue you train intelligently & diligently. Ask yourself each & every day, ŐÓwhat am I going to do in todayŐs workout to improve my performance & help my teamÓ.  Have confidence in your training & your legs will speak for you on race day!  RememberÉEl Dorado is 1.5 weeks away!
